Vehicle Crashes Into Manhattan Bagel In Toms River
Vehicle Crashes Through The Window at Manhattan Bagel In Toms River.
What the heck is going on? It seems like every other day I’m reading about cars crashing into local business storefronts.
A few hours ago, the Exit 82 Scanner News page on Facebook posted a photo of a blue Subaru SUV after it crashed through the front window of the Manhattan Bagel shop at 1830 Hooper Avenue, in the Silverton section of Toms River.
In the photo, there’s a person who looks to be an employee with his hands on his hips with a look of disbelief on his face.
The comments section of the Facebook page is loaded with barbs aimed at senior citizens and their perceived driving habits. Other comments mention liquor stores in the vicinity and junkies passed out behind the wheel.
Back in January, a woman was hurt when the SUV she was driving crashed into an H&R Block and Wine World storefront on Lacey Road in the Whiting.
Several months ago, my friend Kim posted a photo of another storefront crash at Lisa’s Pizza at the Mule Road Circle on Route 37.
On the Exit 82 Scanner News page, Andrew D. posted:” Bro what is it with people crashing into buildings in TR? I swear this happens 2-3 times a month.
My favorite champion was the guy I saw a while back that somehow managed to flip his car onto its roof on Clifton Ave in a 30mph zone.”
Is there something in the water? Are people too busy texting and driving? Are drivers just not paying attention?
Earlier today, I heard there were several crashes on the Garden State Parkway in both directions. Do people not know how to drive?
I don’t want to fear for my life or the lives of my fellow humans every time I get behind the wheel of my vehicle.
Keep in mind that not all accidents happen due to impaired or distracted driving. Today’s accident could have been a situation where the person may have had a medical emergency.
