New Shinedown Song Debuted In Arizona
We’re pretty excited at the prospect of the new Shinedown album, the bands 8th studio album. The band has had a busy schedule as of late but they’ve found time to write and record new music. A new Shinedown song was performed at a live concert appearance over the weekend of November 9th.
Shinedown vocalist Brent Smith appeared with bassist, Eric Bass in Mesa and performed acoustic versions of songs from the band’s deep catalog. But this particular song didn’t strike us as a track from a previous album. The song, “365” seems to have had it’s live debut in the video that you can see below.

The hand held fan video looks like it’s from side of stage and, sadly, was shot in vertical camera position. The mix is a little muddy but you clearly can heard Brent’s words and melody with this performance.
My Take On The New Shinedown Song
From a lyrical content standpoint, the track seems reminiscent of “Daylight” from the band’s pandemic release, “Planet Zero”.
“If I could hitch a ride on a time machine, I would bring you right back here with me… so I wouldn’t have to watch you disappear. Even though I said all the things I have not hoped, I held on tight to the end of the rope, I can keep you close but I couldn’t keep you near… a lot can change in a year.”
That closing line in the chorus, “a lot can change in a year” sparks my previous reflection that this might be something that got it’s start in the PZ writing sessions or may somehow be connector song between that amazing Shinedown album and this new one.
One of the amazing talents of the Shinedown guys is to write songs that mean different things to different people, so my take on this may be very different than yours. And, that’s totally cool. But, I gotta say, Brent and the band’s approach to writing songs about loneliness in a world with such connectivity always blows my heart away.
When Will The New Shinedown Song Be Released?
Man, that’s a tough question to answer. I expected to receive a new Shinedown single by now however the plan changed. Earlier this fall there was a giant shake up at the band’s record label. I don’t know if this shake up delayed the band’s plan but I would not be surprised if it did.
My guess is that we’ll be spending the holiday season enjoying all of our favorite Shinedown songs from their first 7 albums and that we’ll have to wait until early 2025 to hear their new stuff.
