Six Flags is under review and might be selling. The main company of Great Adventure may close some of its theme parks in the future, officials said this week.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation spokesman said Thursday none of the parks are set to close now, but the company is reviewing all of its “assets,” according to the earnings earlier this week.

Some higher-ups in the company have said “We have no plans to close parks,” and that seems like some good news for now. Six Flags does have 27 amusement parks and 15 water parks across America, bringing in about 48 million visitors a year.

Six Flags completed an $8 billion merger in July with Cedar Fair Entertainment. CEO Richard Zimmerman told investors “Every park in our portfolio has a role. If it plays its role right, these are irreplaceable assets.”

Last Day To Ride Kingda Ka

The world’s tallest and fastest coaster has been a huge hit here in our Jersey spot since 2005. Going up to 456 feet in the air and putting riders from 0 to 128 mph in just 3.5 seconds, Kingda Ka has brought people from around the world but it’s also been a real pain for Six Flags.

Six Flags New Jersey To Participate In World’s Largest Roller Coaster Ride June 16th

Apparently, the ride’s hydraulic launch system, the one system to make it go so fast faced daily malfunctions that led to regular closures and costly repairs. Also, weather and some reports of downtimes, keeping Kingda Ka running up to par has been big trouble. Monday will be the last day to ride this beast.

Six Flags has not reported anything on what will replace Kingda Ka, or if any other ride will take its place.

Gotts Outlook On This

I love Six Flags and hope they stay open, also I love Kingda Ka the ride. It is usually the first ride I run to when I enter the park. I also hope they don't close because something is going on there mostly all year. To add to this I will say that my favorite ride was "Rolling Thunder," from back in the day. That ride was so old, and just needed some W-D 40.
