Taco Bell Is Adding Chicken Nuggets To Their Menu

If you're a fan of Taco Bell, here is something they are trying to pull off. I mean first it was the fries, now this.  Is Taco Bell still "Mexican" food? Taco Bell announced they're adding CHICKEN NUGGETS to their menu.  They'll be available nationwide for a limited time though.

They tested them in Minneapolis last year, then in Houston. Even the company admits “loyalty runs deep” among competitors. Taco Bell nuggets will come with their own spin, though. “In a world dominated by chicken cravings, it was time to show the world how Taco Bell does chicken nuggets,” Taylor Montgomery, the restaurant’s chief marketing officer was reported to say.

They're called "Crispy Chicken Nuggets," coated with a combination of breadcrumbs and crushed-up tortilla chips.  That's what makes them "Mexican." They were tested in Minneapolis last year, then in Houston.  They say they tried out more than 100 different dipping sauces and settled on three.

The first sauce they are introducing is "Bell Sauce" made with tomatoes, chiles, and garlic, "Jalapeño Honey Mustard", and a "Hidden Valley FIRE Ranch" that has "Fire" sauce mixed in. The press release from Taco Bell says the new nuggets will be available "while supplies last." A five-piece order of nuggets will run you $3.99 (or $6.99 for a 10-piece order). Combination meals start at $5.99 and run as high as $10.49.

 I do love some Taco Bell that is for sure, I'm always looking at the burritos when I'm there and getting the soft tacos. I cover my food in the Fire Sauce they have out there on display. Making me hungry just writing this story up. As far as the chicken nuggets are concerned, I think it's always good to try different things. You never know what will work and won't work unless you try. I say Taco Bell put it up the flagpole and see who salutes it.

I have my favorites here on or near the Jersey Shore. There’s one in Ocean County and one in Monmouth County that I particularly love. Both places make Fried chicken sandwiches that ring my bell.

Each place has their own special recipe. Each place also has a favorite brand of chicken they use to make their sandwiches.

I love how unique each place is when it comes to putting together a fried chicken sandwich.
The type of bread makes a difference. So do the spices, condiments, vegetables, and anything else that makes their fried chicken sandwich stand out from their competitors.

One of the most unusual versions of the fried chicken sandwich I ever had was at someone’s house. It was an Italian fried chicken sandwich.

It was so good I can’t still taste it. The herbs and spices in the batter were so vibrant. The crunch on the chicken was so incredible, I guarantee it would have registered on a decibel meter.
The combination of the melted mozzarella, tomato, mayo, salt, pepper and granulated garlic that topped this masterfully made sandwich was perfect. Oh, and the bread was a homemade ciabatta roll. Now I’m starving.

The Bellcrest Shopping Center Has Excellent foods joints including Chicken Town. I like love their juicy fried chicken breast sandwich. I add mayo, salt and pepper, so delicious.

We all know they have mad wings at this joint, but to not try any of their fried chicken sandwiches is a crime. The Chicken Slammer is my 1st choice. It's a fried chicken breast with bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipolte BBQ sauce on a pub roll.

Several nice and crispy chicken sandwiches can be found here. It's their specialty!   They serve fried chicken sandwiches, sliders, and more. Hoagitos is the latest restaurant to develop out of the flourishing trend of mixing fast food convenience with high quality fare. Next on my list will be the Finger Licker- a crispy chicken thigh. with honey butter, shredded lettuce, bread & butter pickles, and roasted garlic mayo. 

Over by Rita's Ice on 88, this place serves up slammin' hickory smoked ribs and other BBQ joint staples, but the buttermilk fried chicken tenders sandwich is what you want to order next time you go there. They top it with cheddar and bacon and serve it on a brioche roll. Add an onion brick to the mix and life gets better.

My absolute favorite in Monmouth County! This decision is a tough call because they are all appealing and delicious. Any buttermilk brined and breaded organic Bell & Evans chicken thigh sandwich will be suit my taste. You can opt for the buttermilk brined organic Bell & Evans breast if that's your thing. I might have to go with the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich on my next visit.

It's right near Hoagitos, but very different from their options. This is a Southern recipe my friend. Founded by former NFL Player & NY Giant Rasheed Simmons and his mom Rita Simmons.
