Watch Free Movies Under The Stars In Howell

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township residents are invited to enjoy Movies Under the Stars this summer in the month of August, as the township announced the 2024 movie schedule.   A movie night out with the family in the summer for FREE. You just have to bring your own food and of course a trash bag so that you can clean up after yourself. Back in the day, I remember Mom & Dad loading up the station wagon with blankets and pillows and taking us to the local drive-in theater all dressed in our feetie pajamas with teddy bears in tow. The thought of hitting the graveled playground to play on the swings and the monkey bars and then hitting the concession stand for hot dogs, French fries, soda, and popcorn before the movie was such an exciting feeling. My siblings and I would count down the days until Friday or Saturday night knowing that we were going to the drive-in movies. It was probably on our top 5 list of favorite things to do in the summer. These days, we have the next best thing, seeing movies under the stars sitting on blankets or lawn chairs with bags of goodies to eat during the movie. Fresh air, meeting new people, and a free movie night, how good is that? Where Can I Watch Movies Under The Stars? The movies are shown at the hill at the Howell Township Library, 318 Old Tavern Road. The activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the movies begin at dusk, about 8 p.m. Bring blankets or low-back lawn chairs for seating. You definitely want to be comfortable.
