Study: Did the Plastic Bags Ban Really Help In NJ
Well, Rat Rockers it’s been 2 years since we said goodbye to the plastic bags in New Jersey. Then we got to say hello to the reusable bags. I still have to run back to my car, realizing I forgot to bring the bags into the store. A new study just came out from Freedonia Custom Research that states the plastic bag ban just added more plastic here in New Jersey.
Plastic Bag Ban And How This Study Shows It Added More Plastic :
The study reports that back in 2022 when the ban started. The bag amounts went down 60% which is under 900 million bags. Now this report and study are telling us that plastic just went up to just about 300% just to make the reusable bags in production. Since the study came out it says the grocery store adds to this number with all the reusable bags sold. In my outlook, I’m all about taking care of the environment and keeping our planet green. This report has me scratching my head though if we are using more plastic since the plastic ban.
From Plastic To Reusable Bags And Profit:
This report did have another interesting fact on how much the average grocery store made just selling reusable bags. The amount was $200,000 big ones just for selling those bags you see on the checkout line. The average reusable bag price goes from $1 to $2. That’s a lot of reusable bags being sold. I do recall just this past November we had a bunch of reusable bags that were dropped off with your donations for the Broadcast For The People Of New Jersey. I thank you Rat Rockers for filling up that 40-foot tractor-trailer. What is your opinion on the plastic bag ban and this study? Please let us know right in the comment section below.
