A New Ice Cream Shop Is Coming To Point Pleasant Beach
Back in October 2023, I remember writing about the Point Pleasant Beach Iconic frozen treat shop, Strollo’s Lighthouse serving their final frozen treat. We were all shocked and saddened. They served our community for 25 years.
Strollo’s Lighthouse Closes Their Shop In Point Pleasant
Now it’s time for another family to move into that space and continue a community tradition. The Salardino family will be serving beachgoers frozen treats from their business, Salty’s Inlet Ice Cream.
They posted the following message on their Facebook page:
It’s time Point Pleasant Beach! The Salardino family is thrilled to unveil Salty’s Inlet Ice Cream, blending 45 years of our Point Beach memories. We aim to be your go to dessert spot. Keep an eye out for specials, weekly deals, and contests all summer long! We are hiring, so look for a job fair to be posted soon. Join us and help make our first season one to remember! We look forward to meeting you all, and exceeding your expectations.

A business filing lists David Salardino of East Brunswick as the agent.
Moreover, David and his wife Stephanie are no strangers to the Jersey Shore. Their family has owned a home in Point Pleasant Beach for several years.
Plus, Stephanie has done amazing things by giving back to the community since Hurricane Sandy by heading up toy drives benefitting children in Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties.
According to a 2016 article in CentralJersey.com:
In 2013, Salardino raised $28,000 in one night at Martell’s Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant Beach for four schools devastated by superstorm Sandy in 2012 — Harold G. Antrim Elementary School in Point Pleasant Beach, Point Pleasant Beach High School, Bay Head Elementary School and Lavalette Elementary School.
“I was truly devastated by the storm,” she said. “My family has a house on the beach at the south end of Point Pleasant Beach. We had some very serious damage. We lost the whole first level, dune deck and stairs to the porch, but luckily the house was still standing when two doors down the house washed away.”
These are the kind of people I want to know. I’m looking forward to meeting them and buying lots of cool summer treats when they open for the season.
