An Iconic Jersey Shore Favorite Closes After 25 Years
Strollo’s Lighthouse on Ocean Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach has served it’s last frozen treat. They are not closing for the season, they are closing the Point Pleasant location forever.
After serving the community for 25 years, this celebrated Point Pleasant Beach location is closing down and we’re not sure why.
Not to worry, Strollo’s Lighthouse will still be serving their homemade Italian ices, soft serve ice cream, shakes and other frozen treats at their other locations in Long Branch, West End, Red Bank, and Belford.
A brand new location is under construction in the new Ocean Commons shopping center on Route 35 and Deal Road in Ocean Township, and is slated to open in the Spring of 2024.
Strollo’s originated the concept of dispensing their homemade Italian ice through a soft serve machine. It one of many reasons we love Strollo’s Lighthouse.

Strollo’s Lighthouse has felt so fortunate to be able to be part of so many customers’ summer memories in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We are grateful that we can call Point Pleasant Beach a home of ours and have had the most fun serving you each season. Now, after 25 years of memories, we are officially closing our windows at this location. It is bittersweet as we have loved starting the summer months with everyone who visits the “Shore” and looks forward to a cold, refreshing Italian Ice before (or after) hitting the beach and attractions. We want to thank our management and staff who have helped us throughout the years!❤️❤️We hope our many customers will come to visit us in our other locations! We will miss you, Point!
Many of the comments came from folks who called Strollo’s their “Go To” Summer favorite for their favorite frozen treats.
Andrew wrote: why would you close this?? This location attracted everyone from the PPB side of the inlet and everyone who wanted dessert from broadway. This was my little brother and I’s favorite dessert every day of the summer.
