Toms River’s Ron Marinaccio Makes The Yankees Final Roster!
How awesome is this Rat Rock Nation?! On the day that former Yankee and Met Todd Frazier (from Point Pleasant/Toms River) announced that he is retiring from baseball…we receive the happy news that we still have a local guy in the Big Leagues!
Ron Marinaccio (who graduated from Toms River North High School in 2013) has made the Yankees’ 28-man roster as a skilled relief pitcher. Marinaccio is supposed to have a plus fastball of around 96 to 98 miles per hour, a good curve, and a solid changeup.
If you factor in Al Leiter…that means we’ve had three players from the Toms River area make the Yankees or Mets since 1987! Not bad!
Anyway, we’ll be pulling for Ronnie “Marinara Sauce” this year! And, yes! I just came up with a Sopranos-style nickname for the man! Go Yankees!
And that’s another Opiniated Sports Opinion From East Side Dave!
