522 Pound Great White Shark Came To Say Hi Off The Jersey Shore
GANSBAAI, SOUTH AFRICA - OCTOBER 19: A Great White Shark is attracted by a lure on the 'Shark Lady Adventure Tour' on October 19, 2009 in Gansbaai, South Africa. The lure, usually a tuna head, is attached to a buoy and thrown into the water in front of the cage with the divers. The waters off Gansbaai are the best place in the world to see Great White Sharks, due to the abundance of prey such as seals and penguins which live and breed on Dyer Island, which lies 8km from the mainland. Just before “Penny” got pinged here in New Jersey she was last noticed and pinged off North Carolina in Ocracoke on April 24th. A couple of weeks ago we did have an incident where a young girl did have her foot attacked and luckily she will be okay with just a couple of stitches her foot, and no it was not “Penny” the great white beauty.
Please be careful this summer and remember there is power in numbers when being out in the ocean. Don’t swim alone and always pay attention to the signs and life guards on duty. Lets have a wonderful summer and thank you for reading this post and as always thank you for rocking out with me and 95.9 The Rat- Gotts
