http://wrat.comHey Rat Rock Nation today we turn our attention too the worlds oldest pup who just turned 31 !! Us here at The Rat love our puppies and furry friends, but this time around we say Happy Birthday to “Bobi” a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo from rural Portugal.
UNSPECIFIED, ENGLAND – MAY 06: (EDITORS NOTE: location unspecified for safety reasons) An illegally imported cocker spaniel puppy in a kennel at a Dogs Trust rehoming facility on May 6, 2021 in an unspecified location in the United Kingdom. Dogs Trust have seen a marked increase by 66% of illegally imported puppies during the coronavirus pandemic as demands and street values have risen dramatically. Many of the dogs are imported from Eastern European countries, taken from their parents too young and enduring long and cruel journeys entering the U.K. under the current legal age of 15 weeks. Dogs Trust are calling on the U.K. government to raise the age of imported puppies to 6 months to make them less desirable and to also see tougher penalties for smugglers as currently only a handful of cases have lead to prosecution with minor penalties. The Guinness World Records did crown “Bobi” back in February but this month of May he did hit a milestone of hitting the age of 31. How awesome is that ! The owner and family member Leonel Costa, threw an amazing party for him. “Bobi” got himself a wonderful birthday as over a 100 people showed up and even to keep it in a Portugal tradition, they cooked him up local meats and fish. Nothing but the best for “Bobi.”

This amazing pup had a bunch of friends even come from all over, even crossing international boarders. This party was a bunch of fun and had “Bobi” even got to jump in on a dance troupe. The owner did say that “Bobi” is in good health and does his normal check-ups with the local vet.

The owner said a typical day for “Bobi” is him sunbathing and and hanging out in the backyard and roaming free. The average life span on the breed that “Bobi” is 12 – 14 years. The experts are saying why “Bobi” is around still because he lives in a peaceful rural area. I think maybe we should all take that advice right there.

Bark in the Park 2022
Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
