Alleged Silverton Hookah Lounge Shooter Extradited Back To NJ To Face Murder Charges
On August 27th, 2022 the Silverton community was rocked by a deadly shooting at an already controversial Hooka Lounge. The suspect, Eric Manzanares, 23, of Asbury Park was extradited this week to New Jersey from Virginia. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office stated Manzanares was being held in the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center for about nine months. He was finally arrested this past April.
A warrant had been issued following the investigation into the shooting at Top Tier Hookah Lounge. The troubled lounge was located at 1769 Hooper Ave. The shooting took place about 1:20 a.m. back on Aug. 27, 2022 authorities said.
The Suspect Faces A Litany Of Charges.
Meanwhile, Manzanares faces charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. This is in connection with the killing of Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick.
Tinsley was shot in the lower abdomen and died at the scene, authorities said, while Anthony Miller, 29, of Neptune Township, and Jamal Bland, 24, of Asbury Park, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Miller was shot in the stomach and was treated for his injuries and released. Bland suffered a gunshot wound to his elbow and was likewise treated and released.
The Hookah Lounge Has Been Shuttered Since.
Furthermore, the shooting which shocked the quiet hamlet of Silverton, led to Toms River shutting down the business. Also, officials revoked its certificate of occupancy and fined the business owner and property owner $4,500. These fines were reportedly over multiple zoning and code violations. Moreover, the township’s quality of life task force has been investigating the lounge after multiple complaints about activities at the business. Top Tier had been located in the Anchorage Square shopping center briefly before moving to Silverton Shopping Center, where the shooting happened. The storefront remains vacant today.
