Flying Spiders Are Making Their Way To New Jersey
Look out Rat Rockers, New Jersey might be having not just Benny’s in our area, but venomous flying spiders called Joro spiders. These bad boys are large and colored yellow and black and have their own parachutes. They shoot that thing out of their webs and can travel up to 100 miles in the wind. They can be as large as a human hand. A lot of experts are saying that you and your pets really should not worry about them. They mostly go after other insects, such as stink bugs, mosquitos, flies and things of that nature. You can get more information on the Joro spider by clicking right HERE.
Where Did These Venomous Flying Spiders Come From?
According to the University of Georgia Extension, they were all across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee back in 2013. They made their way to America in 2010 from East Asia.ย With that parachute and some heavy wind gusts they will be hitchhiking their way to the northeast. Some spider specialist are excited for them to get up our way. Be that as it may, in New Jersey, we should be seeing them later this year. I, for one, am not a spider person and have been bitten before.
Don’t worry about these spiders. It’s not like they are going out of their way to attack you. I don’t think we will see anyone turning into Spider Man from these Joro spiders. If you get to see one, please snag a picture and share it with us right here on this post.
