The Yankees Have Gone In The Toilet Because Hal Steinbrenner Is A Coward
Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here back with another action-packed Sports Report for ya! But before we hit the Scoreboard…we gotta vent! And this is directed right at New York Yankee owner Hal Steinbrenner!
Listen up, Hal, you doofus. This Yankee team is absolutely dreadful. They can’t beat anyone good. They are lifeless. They have a lack of talent. And at this point…it is all of HAL’S FAULT.
Hal simply refuses to fire Yankee General Manager Brian Cashman who has been a DISASTER in the front office. The Yankees are now on a 14-year gap since their last World Series win…and Cashman has failed miserably to get All Stars and big-time players for this team. Yeah, they have Aaron Judge…but who’s protecting him? Cashman has failed.
And let’s be honest…Hal is simply too afraid to clean house. While I don’t think that Aaron Boone (the manager) is to blame…it’s more than time to get new blood in the organization and Hal must FIRE Cashman at once! He has had more than enough time to build a championship-winning roster…and he has not done it. Hal must stop being a coward and start making changes or the Yankees are headed to dark times! I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!
Now on to the Scoreboard. The Yankees lost to the Rays last night…5 to 1…as the Yanks sink lower and lower. The Rays slugged four home runs off of Yankee pitching. The Yanks fall to 55 and 51…still in last place in the A.L. East.
The Phillies took down the Marlins…4 to 2. The Phillies’ Taijuan Walker improves to 12 and 4 for the season…as the Phils are now 57 and 49.
The Mets were inactive yesterday. This evening the Mets play the Royals in Kansas City. The Mets are 50 and 55.
Staying with the Mets for a second…as the Mets continue to move players from their disappointing 2023 team, trading outfielder Mark Canha to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league pitcher Justin Jarvis. The 34-year-old Canha was a solid player during the Mets’ 101-win season in 2022 and had the third-highest on-base percentage among Met regulars this year.
Football. The Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin participated in a padded practice for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest on Monday Night Football in Cincinnati on Jan. 2nd. Hamlin reflected on coming back: “It feels amazing…this is all God’s timing.”
Basketball. L.A. Clippers shooting guard Amir Coffey was arrested early Sunday on a firearms charge in Hollywood. Coffey was cited for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, Im said. He was released on his own recognizance from a county jail on $10,000 bail.
Soccer. The U.S. Women only needed a draw to advance in the World Cup and they did just that as the U.S. with Portugal this morning…0 to 0. The Americans will now head to the knockout round. It wasn’t an overly impressive group round…as the U.S. had two ties and a win…but they’re still advancing.
