Cinco De Mayo Food Truck Festival This Weekend In Ocean County

Laurita Winery in New Egypt will be hosting their Cinco De Mayo Food Truck Festival Saturday and Sunday May 6th and 7th.

The event will be held at the winery, located at 85 Archertown Road in New Egypt. There are over 15 food trucks scheduled to attend over the course of the weekend. Furthermore, there will be 5 local cover bands performing, who are regulars on the Laurita festival scene.  Saturday hours for the festival are 11am until 9pm, while Sunday’s festival runs 11 til 7. Admission is 13 dollars in advance, 15 at the door. Persons under 21 are admitted free, however pets are not allowed at the event this weekend.

 

A weather payback for Bacon Fest.

Since Laurita’s much anticipated Bacon Festival was washed out last month, the winery staff is excited that this weekend calls for almost picture perfect weather both days. The outside tables and benches will be clean dry and ready for the hundreds of expected attendees. As with all of the festivals at Laurita, wine will be sold by the glass and bottle. Moreover, wine bars will be open inside the winery as well as outside at several stations throughout the festival grounds. Also, the winery has stated that several of the food trucks in attendance will be serving up special bacon dishes in addition to Mexican and traditional fare, as a tribute to the cancelled Bacon Festival.

Meanwhile, 5 bands who are no strangers to the Laurita Winery festival scene will be performing over the course of the weekend. The band schedule is as follows; Saturday the Shore Bet Band rocks 11am til 2pm. Then, it’s Dragonfly from 2:30 until 5:30pm. Finally, rounding out the Saturday entertainment will be Nikki Briar and the Sweet Briar Band from 6 til 9pm. Finally, on Sunday the music gets started at 11am with Pennington Station, followed by 80’s Undercover from 3pm until 7pm.

Next to that, it would have to be the day I was baked on earth day in Central Park and met Keefer Sutherland…baked too, I believe.
