(WATCH) Jersey Rock Video of the Week: The New Bardots “Policy of Truth”
Rocking the NBPAC on August 26!
The New Bardots are gearing up to rock New Brunswick for a great cause. “Concert for the Animals” lights up the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center on Saturday, August 26. Joining The New Bardots on the bill are The Grip Weeds and Leather Catsuit. The show starts at 7:00 pm. All proceeds benefit the Plainfield Area Humane Society and Non-Kill Shelter. Admission is $35. A cash bar will be available.
Speaking of the event The New Bardots frontman Wayne Olivieri said:
“Ive been a member of the fundraising committee of the Shelter for a few years and when The NEW Bardots decided to do a live show to promote our new LP….I asked the band if they would donate the proceeds to the shelter .”
Olivieri noted that the shelter was devastated by Hurricane Ida and has been struggling to stay open. He organized the concert to aid in that endeavor.
“When we got the theater which holds 460 seats I decided to ask The Grip Weeds and Leather Catsuit …two bands like us who are charting on the national Indie radio chart….both bands agreed to donate all proceeds to the shelter and Im very grateful for that. So please try and make the show people!!!”
Tickets to “Concert for the Animals” are available at NBPAC.org.

The New Bardots’ latest album “Turn Your Head and Cough” is available now on Bongo Boy Records. It features the single, a cover of Depeche Mode’s “Policy of Truth,” which is the subject of this week’s Jersey Rock Video of the Week. Speaking on how the cover ended up on the album, Wayne Olivieri said:
“We have a agent in London, Bob Cunningham…. who helps with our radio promo etc in Europe…He has been suggesting for awhile that we should cover a Depeche Mode song …so to make him happy we got together at rehearsal , listened to a bunch of Depeche Mode songs and picked Policy of Truth…we spent the remainder of rehearsal working out a new arrangement and such…….the next week we went into the studio and knocked it out in a few hours…..it wasnt until John Croot our keyboard player brought his Moog in and layed down some tracks that the song just sort of came to life….we all loved how it turned out so we decided to make it the next single off the new LP. It got to number 10 on the national Indie charts.”
The video for The New Bardots’ cover of “Policy of Truth” is the product of a great collaboration between a number of long-time supporters of the band. It was directed by Larry Gress and Wayne Olivieri. Camera work and Green Screening were done by Rich Hall and Larry Gress.
Editing was carried out by Nick koontz Jr. of Invisual Post Inc.. The video concept came from Wayne Olivieri, with idea contributions from Gar Francis, Johnny Rago, and Dan Skye. Check it out!
