The New Bardots are gearing up to rock New Brunswick for a great cause. "Concert for the Animals" lights up the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center on Saturday, August 26.  Joining The New Bardots on the bill are The Grip Weeds and Leather Catsuit.  The show starts at 7:00 pm.  All proceeds benefit the Plainfield Area Humane Society and Non-Kill Shelter.  Admission is $35.  A cash bar will be available.

Speaking of the event The New Bardots frontman Wayne Olivieri said:

"Ive been a member of the fundraising committee of the Shelter for a few years and when The NEW Bardots decided to do a live show to promote our new LP....I asked the band if they would donate the proceeds to the shelter ."

Olivieri noted that the shelter was devastated by Hurricane Ida and has been struggling to stay open.  He organized the concert to aid in that endeavor.

"When we got the theater which holds 460 seats I decided to ask The Grip Weeds and Leather Catsuit ...two bands like us who are charting on the national Indie radio chart....both bands agreed to donate all proceeds to the shelter and Im very grateful for that.  So please try and make the show people!!!"

Tickets to "Concert for the Animals" are available at NBPAC.org.

The New Bardots' latest album "Turn Your Head and Cough" is available now on Bongo Boy Records.  It features the single, a cover of Depeche Mode's "Policy of Truth," which is the subject of this week's Jersey Rock Video of the Week.  Speaking on how the cover ended up on the album, Wayne Olivieri said:

"We have a agent in London, Bob Cunningham.... who helps with our radio promo etc in Europe...He has been suggesting for awhile that we should cover a Depeche Mode song ...so to make him happy we got together at rehearsal , listened to a bunch of Depeche Mode songs and picked Policy of Truth...we spent the remainder of rehearsal working out a new arrangement and such.......the next week we went into the studio and knocked it out in a few hours.....it wasnt until John Croot our keyboard player brought his Moog in and layed down some tracks that the song just sort of came to life....we all loved how it turned out so we decided to make it the next single off the new LP.  It got to number 10 on the national Indie charts."

The video for The New Bardots' cover of "Policy of Truth" is the product of a great collaboration between a number of long-time supporters of the band.  It was directed by Larry Gress and Wayne Olivieri. Camera work and Green Screening were done by Rich Hall and Larry Gress.

Editing was carried out by Nick koontz Jr. of Invisual Post Inc..  The video concept came from Wayne Olivieri, with idea contributions from Gar Francis, Johnny Rago, and Dan Skye.  Check it out!

Top 6 Best Places For Singles In New Jersey In 2023

Hello, Rat Rockers it's been a crazy year for some of us especially when it comes to relationships so we came up with a top 6 list to help out. Well here at the Rat we are ready to help you get out there and get you over to the best places that are voted on right here in the Garden State to know where you can meet where the most single people are hanging out, male and female. Check this website out to help out as well, by clicking HERE.

I think you will really be surprised by this list because we do have two Jersey Shore towns that are making it, so you don't even have to travel that far if you are in search of the right person you think you can have a great time with.

I know they have the date apps that you can download to your phone and all that but now a day's half the time I'm hearing a lot of "Catfish" stories where you're not really meeting the people that make their profile and that can be really scary so you have to be extra careful with that.

Top 6 Best Places For Singles In New Jersey In 2023:

Going out and meeting a significant other is not as easy as it does sound. You always have someone in your ear saying just go over and say "hello" or "go up and buy them a drink." Well, being me and working in radio I can do the hello part but buying a drink is out of the question because I WORK IN RADIO!! As Dave Chappelle would say I'm broke.

Gotts Party

Gotts Being Gotts

Let's get going with this list and if you are single, I really hope this list will help you out don't forget to be yourself and enjoy life, that is why we are here. Thank you for taking the time out and as always thank you for rocking out with me and 959 The Rat, you can find more stories right here - Gotts

Asbury Park

If you have been to the Jersey Shore you definitely have to stop by the legendary Asbury Park! I know why this made the list because there is so much to do here. You have great nightlife, with the restaurants and the bars it really is a great place to go out and meet someone. Just think of the Stone Pony to meet someone, not only will they be into the same music as you but you will both be having a great time seeing that person or band live. Here is a list of upcoming shows for you to check out at The Stone Pony here.

Hoboken

It might be a mile square city but this place is huge for single people. The Frank Sinatra sounds and the nightlife up here says a lot but get this almost %40 percent of the people there have never been married! Plus it is so close to New York City, I think this is why if you are single is a great place and hotspot to check out. Find out more information on Hoboken party spots right here.

Red Bank

This place is just awesome! If you are into the arts scene this is where you will find someone that has all the same outlook that you do. Up to almost 25% of the people there are single and another great spot to catch some coffee outside and then head to a great concert later on that night. Plus it's really close to the beach as well.  Make sure you tell "Jay and Silent Bob" we said hello too. Here is some more info for ya on upcoming events in Red Bank. Just click right here.

Long Branch

This beautiful spot on the beach has been really building in the last 10 years. With all the new stores and shops coming up, it has brought in a bunch of new people and that means new singles as well. Great place to sit back and relax and enjoy yourself at a nice bar where you can really have a conversation with someone and music is not blasting in your ear or some drunk guy bumping into you during it all. I love going to Pier Village and listening to live music out there and have met a lot of great people too. Get some more information on Long Branch and what's coming up right here.

Princeton

They are making the list because if you're looking to match up with a very well-educated person you are in the right spot. Plus almost 35% of the people in Princeton are single, you definitely don't have to worry about picking up me here.  Swing by Albert Einstein's house too, maybe he has a relative that is single.

Weehawken

Well, we all can't afford to live in the next town over called Hoboken but this place is just as good and filled with singles. Same as Hoboken, with really easy access to New York City and a great percentage level of singles. Plus check out their $10.5 million dollar pool by clicking right here. That is pretty sick !!
