There’s A New Choice For Chinese In Silverton Coming Soon
Over the past several years Sushi and Hibachi restaurant Uminoya has found massive success within Silverton and beyond. They have well crafted dishes, expansive menu, reasonable prices, and friendly service. This has made Uminoya one of the go to Asian Fusion eateries in the area daily. Furthermore, It’s not uncommon to see the parking spaces in the Stella Plaza at 1830 Hooper Avenue filled daily. Moreover, the lot is packed on Fridays and Saturdays, as folks flock to Uminoya for a fun weekend experience. A look at their impressive menu can be found here.
Now comes word that Uminoya is expanding, within their existing space! The restaurant will reportedly utilize under used seating in their northern side store front for Chinese buffet style eat in and take out! This is great news for Silvertonians, as calls have been made for a number of years for an additional Chinese takeout restaurant. Currently the only full on Chinese take out within Silverton’s boundary is China Express at 1816 Hooper Avenue. However, there are some others within a mile or two that are quite popular as well.
Three Choices, one price.
According to a sign posted on the window of the soon to be opened spot, there will be a one price deal. This “All Day Special”, will offer a choice of three items, served with rice and noodles. Furthermore, soda or the popular bubble tea will be included in the meal. The price point for this all in culinary adventure is posted at 15 dollars and 95 cents. While I’m more of a $9.99 kind of guy, if the portions are good, this seems like it will be a good deal. Moreover, if the quality is the same as the traditional Uminoya faire, then if will definitely be worth it. Some of the choices advertised on the window are typical Chinese takeout favorites. These include Pepper Steak, Chicken and Broccoli, and everyone’s favorite General Tso’s Chicken.
There is no set date for the new venture’s opening. That is, other than a small handwritten sign on the front door, saying “coming soon. However, a peak inside the window shows Uminoya might is not too far away from adding a full Chinese takeout menu to their already excellent repertoire.
