Seaside Social House Coming To Seaside Heights, New Jersey
Seaside Social House will open soon in the building formerly housing Jax Garage, which lost it’s liquor license and closed it’s doors last year.
Jax Garage opened after Jack and Bills bar was destroyed in the 2013 Seaside Boardwalk fire. Incidentally, it was named Jax Garage because it was build on the site of an old mechanic’s shop. Meanwhile, the site has been vacant since severe restrictions were put on the bar’s liquor license. Thus, forcing them to close for good in the Summer of 2022.
However, now it seems that is all about to change.
A November opening is said to be planned.
Somewhat of an odd choice, considering we are in Fall, and soon will be heading into Winter. When the board walk area, as well as most of Seaside is devoid of many people, let alone tourism. However, the new proprietors are most likely counting on the same locals that keep great establishments like Sawmill, Hooks, Hemingway’s, Spicy, Jimbo’s, EJ’s and others open year round.
Looks like we will have a new Sports Bar.
Even though it’s got the name Seaside Social House, signs covering up the windows let passers by know three things the owners will be focused on serving. Those things are Pizza, Sports, and Cocktails. One would think not necessarily in that order. Listen, it’s a recipe that will work if done right. everyone loves pizza. Plus, if they have some signature cocktails on the menu that separate them from the pack, and start a buzz in the community, even better. Meanwhile, the sports part of this equation is the most interesting. Opening in the middle of football season can be tough. Hard to build a weekly fan base without getting started around Labor Day. However, with the right amount of promotion and advertising, plus some great game day specials they my get a decent football crowd for the home stretch of the regular season.
I think they have a shot at making people regulars if they promote hockey and basketball. It’s perfect timing, both are incredibly long seasons and both are just getting underway this month. Perhaps they get the NHL or NBA packages? Only time will tell for Seaside’s newest bar.
