There’s A New Brewery Coming To West Belmar!
It’s been talked about and in the works for a while, and now Bake’s Brewing Co. is really starting to take shape! The new local brewery seems to be getting close to completion. It is located where the former Sonetronics building was for decades, at 1718 Route 71 in the West Belmar section of Wall. The company website has a passionate story from founder, Jeff “Bakes” Baker, a lifelong Wall resident, and decade-long beer maker, who says “I take great pride in my hometown and want to bring a great craft beer experience to our community”.
This will no doubt be a great addition to the community, not just during the Summer tourist season, but for our year-round residents! Coming on the heels of Beach Haus Brewery opening their brewpub on Main Street in Belmar almost 8 years ago, Bake’s Brewing is sure to be another gem for our craft beer-loving area. I took some photos of the brewery this morning, and as you can see, there will be both an indoor and outdoor area to relax and enjoy some local beers. Mr. Baker also states on the company’s website that Bake’s is also planning to package their brews for off-premise consumption, in both cans and growlers.
As a beer lover, and someone who loves to spend a day checking out new breweries with my wife, I am so pumped for this! I mean it’s literally right around the corner from the Rat’s on-air studios! Morning Rat Carl Craft and I have already made our tentative plans for a liquid lunch this holiday season at Bake’s, which doesn’t have a firm opening date yet. So here’s to hoping we can raise a pint sooner than later at this soon-to-be new and much-welcomed addition to our neck of the woods!
