(WATCH) Jersey Rock Video (Stream) Of The Week: Live From The USA
We are living in an unprecedented time. The Corona Virus/Covid-19 pandemic has plunged the world into a pit of uncertainty. Right now our nation is taking measures to avoid the worst of it and “flatten the curve” through the practice of “social distancing.” Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Stay out of crowds. Keep at least 6 feet between you and others at a time. These are the guidelines we must follow if we are to stop the spread of the disease. On Saturday NJ Governor Phil Murphy issued an executive order for New Jerseyeans to stay at home with the exception of essential trips like going to the grocery store or seeking medical service. All local music events have been cancelled or postponed. The Jersey Rock scene has gone silent.
Or has it?…
In the midst of a statewide quarantine, local musicians have taken to the internet to bring music and social interaction to others. One of those efforts is the facebook group Live From The USA. The streaming group kicked off last week with live performances from NJ artists Cranston Dean, Pamela Flores, Ashley McKinley, and Tara Dente. While Cranston Dean and Tara Dente streamed from NJ, Pamela Flores performed in California and Ashley Mckinley chimed in from Tennesse. It’s a prime example of how to make the best of a bad situation.
While Live From The USA kicked off in NJ, The aim is to involve the entire nation. On Monday the group will feature live performances from artists in Maine, North Carolina, and Texas.
You can join the public group and watch all the performances now on Facebook!
