New Jersey Get Ready For Pizza Bowl 4 Coming Saturday February 3, 2024
Get ready for the ultimate New Jersey pizza competition! It’s Pizza Bowl 4, where the cheesiest, sauciest, and most delicious pies battle it out to be crowned King of New Jersey Pizza.
One of my favorite Facebook pages, “Jersey Pizza Joints” run by one of my favorite food dudes, Guy Madsen, sets up the voting rules and tabulates the votes from the 91,000-member Facebook page.
More than 10,000 votes from across the Garden State selected the top 12 pizzerias who will compete in the 4th annual pizza competition taking place at Redd’s Bar & Restaurant, 317 Washington Ave, Carlstadt, NJ 07072.
According to Madsen, “Out of 3,300 pizza joints in New Jersey, they’ve selected the delicious dozen.”
More than 250 New Jersey pizza joints were nominated.
Last year’s Pizza Bowl 3 champion, Coniglio’s Old Fashioned of Morristown will compete again this year.
According to an article in NorthJersey.com, Madsen simplified the contest this year, breaking down New Jersey into three sections, North, central, and South. The former Jersey Shore section has been folded into the South or central locations.
This year, Jersey Pizza Joints has added a few new celebrity judges: Lexy and Tommy DeVito, parents of the Giants rookie quarterback, as well as members of the Smithereens.
A few others are expected to weigh in on this statewide pizza bake off.
These are the Fabulous Four Top Vote getters for each of the 3 Regions of Jersey. If for any reason a Fab 4 Vote getter cannot attend the next highest vote getter will be invited until we have a full bracket.
