Morning, Rat Rock Nation. Davey Mac of the Morning Rat Race and we’re looking back at John Lennon as it is December 8th…the day that Lennon was shot and killed in 1980…a truly tragic moment in the history of rock and roll. John was just 40 years old.

John, of course, is most famous as the leader of the Beatles…the iconic rock band that he was in with Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Between “Strawberry Fields,” “All You Need Is Love,” “A Day In The Life,” and more…John was a phenomenal songwriter and musician.

And while the Beatles would break up in 1970…John would continue to be a prolific and successful artist. John had an excellent solo career which produced such legendary hits as “Imagine,” “Instant Karma,” and more. He had just put out the album Double Fantasy, in fact, before he was gunned down.
