(WATCH) Jersey Rock Video of the Week: Matt O’Ree Band “Making Memories
“Hand In Glove” Vinyl Release Show Rocks The Wonder Bar on September 9!
Matt O’Ree Band’s latest album “Hand In Glove” was released last year on CD and digital and now it’s about to be available in the format it was made for: Vinyl! Speaking on Jersey Rock on 95.9 The RAT, Matt O’Ree said:
“It was such a great experience to go down this road with vinyl. Fans of our band are interested in it and we decided to do it. Its so to cool to hear it. It’s not heavily compressed like a digital format. The pressing and the printing of the art work… I can’t wait get it out to the public.”
A follow-up to 2016’s high-powered and star-studded “Brotherhood” album, “Hand In Glove” is arguably the definitive Matt O’Ree Band release. It is in many ways a culmination of everything the group has been through over the years and features a true synergy between the parts that make up an incredible sum.
The vinyl edition of “Hand In Glove” is available for pre-order now at mattoreeband.com. It can also be obtained in person when the band rocks Asbury Park in September! Following a national tour, Matt O’Ree looks forward to rocking a home crowd. He said:
“You’re gonna hear all the new songs from our new record. We think of our fans as our family. We’re always thankful to see everyone coming out to our show!”

“Making Memories” is a follow-up to M.O.B’s video for “Whole Lotta Nothin'”. The band chose to rock a Rush cover and Eryn absolutely crushes it on vocals. The video was recorded live at The Freak Shop in Keyport. It was engineered and mixed by Bob Pantella. Check it out!
Neptune City's Headliner Nightclub To Be Razed For New Hotel, Condo, Restaurant
The recent breaking news from Neptune City that there’s a redevelopment plan that has surfaced for the area near the Route 35 bridge had gotten us nostalgic for all the good times we had at the Headliner Nightclub over the years. If the plan comes to pass, the Headliner Nightclub would be razed to make way for a new hotel/restaurant/condo complex.
The redevelopment plan includes knocking down The Headliner Nightclub (now also known as the Oasis Pool and Day Club) along with the Sunsets Restaurant and the Neptune Motor Lodge. In those businesses’ places would be the new complex which would include what’s being described as a “high-end hotel”, condominium units, and a restaurant.
The current motel has not been in operation since a wind storm ripped the roof off the building. That wind storm spread roofing debris around the surrounding area and neighborhood and allowed rain to ruin the business. The building is an eyesore and in desperate need of something, anything, to make the area acceptable.
Hey, lets be honest for a second, that motel was an eyesore even before the wind storm blew through. No offense, but the clientele at that motel wasn’t the greatest, the parking lot activity questionable, and I didn’t have to walk inside to get the feeling that housekeeping wasn’t a very common activity.
But, time out for one other second… I have had TONS of experience at The Headliner Nightclub. Long before the Oasis Pool part was added, The Rat Pack hung out there all-the-freaking-time. We did grand prize giveaways for awesome contests there. We crowned a few Rat Rock Girls at The Headliner, our Friday Happy Hour live broadcasts with Jimmy Steal are legendary! From football Sunday to their great Halloween parties, the Headliner was a great party spot! (And still will be until this deal is done.)
And let’s not forget the WRAT sand volleyball team which won and lost many a championship on those Headliner sand volleyball courts. Those Wednesday night volleyball matchups were legendary! Battling it out on the court and then toasting the competition at the bar afterwards makes for some of my favorite memories ever!
So, I went through The Rat’s picture archive and found some great old-school pictures from the many parties that we did at The Headliner. See if you recognize yourself or any of your crew!
