Shake Shack And First Watch Coming To Brick!
Shake Shack Burgers and the fast casual breakfast, lunch and brunch restaurant First Watch have both signed leases to occupy areas in the Brick Commons Shopping Center.
The Brick Commons is already home to Kohls and Shoprite. This will be the only Shake Shack in Ocean County. There are only two in Monmouth County. One at the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, and the other at the Monmouth Travel Plaza off of the Garden State Parkway in Wall Township.
Property owners, Urban Edge went to the Bricktown Zoning board last year and asked to amend the plans. They hoped to provide a drive through for Shake Shack. However, that plan amendment was rejected, according to township officials.
The new footprint will face route 70, creating a desirable spot for both restaurants. Plus giving shoppers a more compelling reason to stay in the plaza longer.
Ever since First Watch opened it’s first New Jersey location in Union four years ago, ownership has seen how well the state has taken to their fresh concept on breakfast, lunch, and brunch.
Personally I have been to a couple of First Watch locations in the greater Fort Lauderdale area. My daughter went to school down there, and in my opinion, their food is great. Well made, from scratch, with a modern yet farm to table vibe. I think both places will do very well. Although I will be concerned about the traffic. That plaza is already a nightmare to navigate. Now with the addition of two new fast casual restaurants that everyone and their mother is going to want to go to, I can’t even imagine the log jams! However, like the saying goes, no pain, no gain!
Speaking of new places in the Brick Commons, Round Pie Pizza recently opened there to rave reviews. Hopefully it will be joined by Shake Shack and First Watch before too long!
