Celebrating 50 Years Of “Mangia” With Mulberry Street Italian Food Center in Brick!
When my wife and I stopped by Mulberry Street at 474 Brick Boulevard in Brick this past Sunday, to pick up the radio station’s corned beef and cabbage order for parade day, little did we know we were walking into history!
A half a century in the making…
While filling our order, co owner Ralph Colasurdo informed us that Sunday was the exact 50th Anniversary Day of Mulberry Street doing business. WOW !
It was 50 years ago, in 1973 that Ralph and his brother Michael’s father, Michael Colasurdo Sr, opened what was then known as A&M Meat Market over in Jersey City. Subsequently, the family business moved to it’s current locale, Bricktown, in the spring of 1985. The rest as they say, is history!
It’s all in the name…
The family decided to change the name upon the move, to better reflect the store’s expanding selection of Italian imports, and home cooked Italian recipes. Meanwhile, sons Michael Jr, and Ralph joined the business soon after the move to Ocean County.
The family tradition continues…
Likewise, Michael Jr and Ralph continue to proudly carry on their Italian family’s wonderful tradition and legacy today. Moreover, they commemorated the anniversary in a recent social media post.
“We would like to thank all of our customers for supporting us over the years and look forward to serving you for many more years to come”.
Come see for yourself…
