East Side Dave’s Top 5 Movies To Watch On July 4th!
It’s time for another Top 5 list, Rat Rock Nation! And this one is about movies! Specifically…July 4th movies!
Now, we’re being a little loose with the rules here. Besides a holiday to honor our country’s independence, July 4th also feels like the time where Summer is at its peak. Swimming, camp fires, cookouts, baseball…these are (usually) in full-swing by now. Thus, any movie is eligible that celebrates this glorious time of year.
Behold! It’s East Side Dave’s Top 5 Movies To Watch On July 4th!
5.) Stand By Me
Four kids go on an epic Summer adventure to locate a dead body outside of town. Awesomeness.
4.) The Natural
No sports scream “Summer” quite like baseball. And The Natural is the best of them all.
3.) Independence Day
For obvious reasons, I simply had to put this movie on the list. Still, it’s fun July 4th craziness…and it’s a good time!
2.) Born On The Fourth Of July
Tom Cruise delivers one of his greatest acting performances in this true-life masterpiece (directed by Oliver Stone) about former Marine Ron Kovic. It’s our most serious entry on the list, but it is an absolutely incredible movie.
1.) Jaws
To me, July 4th always felt like the zenith of Summer. It’s when you are at the beach…having a great time…unless that beach has been taken over by a killer Great White shark. Then you may want to consider going to a pool instead.
