Jersey Rock Artist of the Week: Joe Benoit
Rocking The Gutter Bar in Brooklyn on 8/9!
Existing somewhere between Generations X and Y, Joe Benoit is a consummate classic rocker. The Middletown native currently resides in Queens and regularly performs in Brooklyn and Manhattan. His “Greetings From Forest Hills,NY” EP is available now joebenoitmusic.com. The EP’s name, of course, pays homage to Bruce Springsteen, who along with the likes of Tom Petty and Cheap Trick, provides a great deal of inspiration for Joe’s brand of music. His upcoming album “Too Old To Be A Rock Star,” follows a 9 song format and a style heavily influenced by 1970’s Rock.
“Too Old To Be a Rockstar” will be released this Fall. Joe Benoit is currently rocking a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to have the album pressed to vinyl. There are rewards for a number of donation levels ranging from digital downloads to guitar lessons to a personalized song. A donation of $20 along with shipping and handling will score you the LP on vinyl. To donate simply search for “Joe Benoit” on kickstarter.com or follow this LINK.
