Holmdel, New Jersey- Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino shared Ring camera footage from his home in Holmdel New Jersey of a very scary moment.
Mike Sorrentino, aka “The Situation”, has done a lot to turn his life around.
We first became familiar with Mike on the MTV hit show, Jersey Shore.
He appeared on all six seasons of the MTV reality show from 2009 through 2012, and returned to the franchise with Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, and continues to film the show, now in its 7th season.

Mike has overcome a ton of bad situations. Lots of them self-inflicted. Drunk run ins with celebrities, drug use, fights, and of course his well-publicized prison sentence for tax evasion.
On January 19, 2018, Sorrentino pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors. Sentencing took place on October 5, 2018 at the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark. Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison.
Mike is on a much better path these days, and I’m happy for him.
You should read his new book, Reality Check: Making the Best of The Situation – How I Overcame Addiction, Loss, and Prison.
It’s an eye opener from a man who learned some hard lessons.
No punches are pulled in this book.

In the description on Amazon, “Mike paints a raw and uncensored picture of his rise to stardom, steep fall, and amazing renaissance, all told with unwavering honesty. Divulging everything from drug-fueled orgies to what really happened behind the scenes of reality television’s most loved and dysfunctional family, Mike’s book reveals all for the first time.”
This past Saturday, Sorrentino shared a clip from his Ring camera of him taking immediate action when he noticed his 2-year-old son Romeo was choking on pesto gnocchi at the dinner table.
In the video below, we see a calm Sorrentino pull his son from his chair and hit him on the back as his wife heads to the kitchen to get the LifeVac choking device and apply it until the food becomes dislodged. Romeo then cries and falls into mom Lauren’s arms.
Mike & Lauren can now add hero to the list of inspiring accomplishments. That’s excellent parenting right there. They did not panic, they just sprung into action and got the job done.
