Well, this is a sad one to write about, Six Flags Great Adventure here in New Jersey is saying goodbye to a legendary ride.

I have so many memories I can't tell you about that took place on this ride. This ride has been around since I was young and is one of the oldest as well.

Just a quick couple of amazing rides you should check out that are still going, and my favorites to get my thrills are Nitro, El Toro, Superman, Kingda-Ka, and even The Batman Ride, now you can try the new one The Jersey Devil. Here is a list of the rides you can check out at sixflags.com.

Over the years Six Flags has replaced some rides I wish I could be on at least one more time like American Scream Machine, Free Fall, Lighting Loops, Shock Wave, or the one that sounded like it needed to be sprayed with WD-40 called Rolling Thunder, which was just the best if you sat in the way back. Do you remember those or have a favorite that is no longer there?

What Ride At Six Flags Great Adventure Is Saying Goodbye To?

Looks like Six Flags here in Jackson has taken the Skyride also known as Skyway off the park maps. If you recall, it took you from one side of the park to the other in about 5 minutes. They would have 20 cars going around, 25 seconds apart. Did you know that this ride was made for the 1964 New York World's Fair, then it was moved to Great Adventure after the fair shut down.

I will say within that 5-minute ride you would see, a lot of things going on in some of these cars on the ride, that maybe some people should not be doing in public LOL. I hope in the future, the fine folks at Six Flags bring it back, and I have not found out why they are removing the Skyway.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
