The Barnegat Oyster Collective isn't just about selling oysters and promoting local Oyster Farms. They want you to really learn about the farm to table aspect of the business the collective is all about. They have special pop up events at restaurants and breweries, and even have shucking classes. By the way, one time I won an oyster shucking contest. I got a hat. But that's a story of another day.
If you love Oysters, and you are a fan of local farmers and businesses, you should look more into the Barnegat Oyster Collective. They can even teach you about how to properly eat and enjoy the subtle differences and qualities when eating oysters. It's on their website and it's called Oysters 101.
You can also purchase oysters from all of the farms listed here right through the Barnegat Oyster Collective website.
Top 5 Best Cheesesteaks In Seaside Heights
Here is our list of the best cheesesteaks we've had so far in Seaside Heights this summer. The meatiest, cheesiest, & tastiest on or off the Boards!

There's just something about Seaside Heights and a good sloppy cheesesteak in the summertime. Recently we ranked the Best Sausage And Pepper Sandwiches On The Seaside Boardwalk for 2024. While we kept that list strictly to the boardwalk, the best cheesesteaks in Seaside Heights have to include some favorites off the boards. They simply cannot and will not be overlooked!
Criteria

When it comes to the best cheesesteaks in Seaside Heights, quality is king. Just because it's a cheesesteak, doesn't mean the joint should skimp on the good meat. Fresh chopped ribeye might cost more than frozen Steak Umm, but it makes for a better sandwich, let's be honest. Besides, everything is expensive nowadays so you're going to pay top dollar regardless. Might as well get the best!
Another big factor in ranking the best cheesesteaks in Seaside Heights is the cheese factor! It's gotta be oooey gooey for sure, but it has to be more than just crappy cheese sauce. This is one part of what separates one steak place from another in Seaside. Cooper Sharp is a perfect example of a great melting cheese for steaks. The other part, for me at least, is the onion factor. Listen, a fat kid like me will eat a cheesesteak anyway. I'll take it Cali style with LTO, or the works with fried onion, peppers, and mushrooms. I'll even go all steak pizzaiola on your ass with fresh mozz and sauce! However, for the straight-on cheesesteak "wit" as they say in Philly, I want my onions grilled/fried, and diced, so they melt into the sandwich.
I know, i'm getting friggin hungry too. Let's get to the list. Oh and remember, this is just our list. It's not right, it's not wrong, and you know much better than I do. So before you bash me, just remember, you win. And, it's just food. On to the list..
The Best Cheesesteaks In Seaside Heights
Cheesesteak Louie's 22 Boulevard
I mean if there were ever a place that came in and just dominated the food scene at the Jersey Shore, it is this joint. They are so far and away the best Cheesesteaks I've eaten at an establishment, we literally could end the list here. Ok that's a bit of hyperbole, but if you haven't tried this 3 year old phenom, you are doing your belly a disservice. The King Louie will change your life, by the way.
The Sawmill 1807 Boardwalk Seaside Park
If you read my Seaside articles regularly, you know my affection for this 50 year old institution. They do everything good, and some things great. Their cheesesteaks are outstanding. Yes I know it's Seaside Park, but hey, they are grandfathered in! Just look at those onions!
Steaks Unlimited 14 Dupont Ave
One of the OG joints in the steak game in Seaside. Clem and the gang always have done a bang up job. Big, meaty, sloppy. Delicious. The bread is thick and holds it all in. Plus these guys go nuts with toppings. Try one with cheeseballs!
Dentato's Clam Bar 1205 Boardwalk
New location, same good stuff! The reigning champs of the Sausage and Pepper sando come in hot with their steaks too! Very good quality, and very clean environment in the new place as well. Really an A+ squad. I suggest a crossfade, and ask them to do a half sausage half steak combo sandwich.
Spicy Cantina 500 Boardwalk
Comin in hot with that white American is Spicy Cantina. Yep great Mexican food upstairs, and classic boardwalk favorites downstairs. The steaks are big and juicy. Try the Buffalo Chicken for a change of pace with their homemade wing sauce!
