About The Spot

The Spot Pizza & Grill has a new "spot" here in Toms River. The popular joint has moved from its Route 9 shop to a larger restaurant on Route 37.

According to their website, The Spot Pizza Grill is a family-friendly pub-style sports bar located in Toms River, New Jersey.

ANDY CHASE

Looking for crispy thin-crust pizza & traditional American grill favorites like buffalo wings, black Angus burgers, tex-mex nachos, wraps, and sandwiches? Then The Spot is the place for you. The Spot was well known and very popular in its small, odd location in the back of the Spirits Unlimited building at 1426 Route 9 in Toms River for over a decade.

While the original version of the restaurant may have been small, with just 24 bar stools and a dozen or so tables, it churned out some great pizza, very good wings, and pretty amazing Tex-Mex Nachos, if I do say so myself! When my daughter used to swim for the Ocean County YMCA, it was always our go-to for our post-meet dinner, as it was conveniently located just a few minutes away.

Why The Move?

ANDY CHASE

So why did the spot move from a location it had prospered in for such a long time? Well, it seems a changing demographic and a desire to expand and have even more exposure may have been behind the move.

The new location is fabulous! The Spot's new spot is at 2018 Route 37 in Toms River. It's larger than the original Spot and is well-appointed and more modern.

However don't worry, because I'm told it's the same owners, chefs, and wait staff, and the quality of the food remains stellar! I mean just look at these wings! Plus the larger bar is still pouring sensational drinks and drafts!

The new Spot is open 7 days a week, Monday through Saturday 11:30 am until 10 pm, and Sundays from Noon til 10. I can imagine the Spot will be hot come football season.

And hey, they even have a Taco Tuesday! Gotta love The Spot!

Thanks to my pal Andy Chase for taking these photos while he was grabbing some wings yesterday!

Check Out These Images At The Cape May Brewery For Sunday Funday

We went to the Cape May Brewery for my daughter's 23rd birthday and had a super Sunday funday for sure! Their beers are awesome, and so is the vibe.

Just about 90 minutes from Toms River, the brewery has a chill vibe and friendly staff. They have rotating food trucks there every day so there is always food available.

Plus a cool gift shop where you not only can get warm or cold cases of your favorite Cape May beer, but also clothing and other stuff with the Cape May Brewing logo. All that aside, it's the beer that everyone comes for. They are definitely IPA heavy, however, they do also offer some Lagers, Summer Shandys, Hard Seltzers, and even nonalcoholic homemade Root Beer!

About Cape May Brewing

According to their Website, In 2011, Cape May Brewing Co. helped put New Jersey on the map for craft beer and has offered refreshing brews as one of the largest and most acclaimed craft breweries in the region ever since.

From their humble beginnings hand-delivering the first keg of Cape May IPA to a local beach bar to the hundreds of accounts offering cans and drafts of brews throughout New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, Cape May Brewing Co. is where the brews are.

The Cape May Brewing Tasting Room is one of the largest and most accessible in the state, with a dog-friendly outdoor Beer Garden open year-round out back. You can take their interactive, self-guided tour on your way in before you get in line for a pint or a flight. Be sure to visit the Brewtique gift shop before you leave to take home your favorite brews to-go and explore their latest collection of accessories and apparel.

I have to say, I liked the hard seltzers a lot, but I think my favorite beer was the Coastal Evacuation IPA. Crisp and clean, easy to drink. Plus 8 percent ABV. It's a winner! Our entire party really enjoyed this place.

Check out some photos I snapped while I was there.
