2 New Offshore Wind Farms Got The Green Light Here In NJ
Well Rat Rock Nation, looks like the plans got approved for 2 new offshore wind farms yesterday, after months of not going through this past fall. This will mean New Jersey is still on track to add enough power for 1.8 million homes, according to officials. They are saying this will power homes for hopefully the next seven years or even longer. There will be at least 100 wind turbines off the Jersey Shore. This is according to NJ.Com
What These 2 Offshore Wind Farms Consist Of.
These wind turbines will be a 2400 megawatt project that will be 2 phases of 1200 megawatts each. What are we doing going “Back To The Future?” These wind turbines will be located, just about 50 miles off the Jersey Shore. Officials are saying this project will go online approximately between 2031 and 2032. This project was half and half partners between Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables North America. Another partner out of New York did not go through on their side of the deal. People are saying there are a lot of ups and downsides to this project. I don’t like it. If you recall a lot of whales and sea life, were showing up on the Jersey Shore beaches dead from the early trials of the offshore wind turbines.
In my opinion, if it sounds too good to be true it most likely is too good to be true. I hated hearing about and even seeing the whales washing up on shore and reporting about it on the air.
