Did You Hear About This? A Fight Over Stolen Cigarettes’ Turns Fatal In Marlboro
Rat Rock Nation police arrived at a house in Marlboro NJ for a fight on New Year’s Day. A 39-year-old named Carl Richards called 911 and needed an ambulance, for his deceased mother’s longtime boyfriend.
His name is George Mott III who is 64 and sadly lost his life due to the injuries. A video camera was up in Carl and his wife Amanda’s bedroom, and caught Mott and Richards fighting it out. They were fighting over when Mott accused Richards of stealing his cigarettes. Carl said it was self-defense when they were fighting and George hit him first.
George did have injuries to his orbital bone, nose, skull, and neck.

The issue is the video might be telling a different story for Richards according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor and shows it was no self-defense. The video does show Richards punching Mott in the head, and kicking him while on the ground. He didn’t even call for help until about an hour later. I know they are from Marlboro but they should not be fighting over one!
Fight Leads Carl Richards To Jail And Here Is What Charges He Is Looking At.
Richards is being held at The Monmouth County Jail and no bail has been set. He is being charged with aggravated manslaughter. He is also being charged with child endangerment, having three young children who were home. During this attack, they were so scared and were hiding in a nearby closet for almost an hour. Carl’s wife Amanda is getting some charges as well and being held in jail too. She is being charged with child endangerment and obstruction of justice.
