A 1930’s inspired club-restaurant is coming to the Jersey Shore!   Park Social will be the name of this new place, located at 1311 Route 35 in Neptune, just steps away from Headliner Oasis Nightclub. The building recently housed the woodfired pizza restaurant, Al Ponte.

Unfortunately, Al Ponte didn’t last long, just about a year or so. Before it was Al Ponte, it was Simko’s Grill for a few years. Prior to that, it was a nice place called, “Yvonne’s.”  Yvonne’s had the best food.

I loved Yvonne’s so much; I got a job there as a bartender.

The space at 1311 Highway 35 in Neptune has now been taken over by Sabrina Boudreau-Gullace whose husband Matthew Gullace, is the owner of the Asbury Ale House in Asbury Park. Asbury Ale House recently expanded to include a place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

According to The Coaster, the new Neptune eatery is Sabrina’s vision of a 1930’s Art Deco nightclub and designed to appeal to women. That means more sophisticated and upscale.

New custom booths will replace the “very gray” color scheme of Al Ponte, she said. A velvet curtain will separate a private lounge and there will be music provided by the Dueling Pianos.

“This is not for the party crowd, Boudreau-Gullace said. Women over 25 are her customers. The theme is an example of the trend defining Women Empowerment.

I’m definitely intrigued by this concept. After all, I am an empowered woman over 25. I can really see myself enjoying this place. In fact, I can see myself getting all dolled up in 1930’s style clothing to add to the authenticity of Sabrina’s concept.

Boudreau-Gullace is in the process of giving the building a facelift, along with an outdoor deck renovation. A new menu is being created to include small plates, coal fired pizza, and fabulous cocktails.

Ms. Boudreau-Gullace is also planning on hiring male bartenders and female servers.

The plan is to open Park Social by mid-summer 2024. When an official opening date is announced, I’ll pass the info along to you.
