Great Adventure & Six Flags Merge With Other Amusement Park Company
Reuters is reporting that Six Flags Entertainment will be merging with the company Cedar Fair in effort to grow their amusement park business and compete with Disney. The deal will result in Six Flags and Cedar having 42 amusement/water parks and 9 resorts.
Hollywood Reporter states that the new merger will create an $8 billion parks and entertainment company. What does this mean for fans of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson? Well, the deal isn’t supposed to complete until 2024…so until then…it’s anyone’s guess! But it could result in some serious upgrades to an already-fun park!
Six Flags has a partnership with Warner Brothers…which gives them access to the DC Universe as well as Looney Tunes characters…while Cedar Fair has access to the Peanuts gang. So, maybe we’ll see more rides and attractions based on those franchises. I can’t wait to see what changes they make!
