It's summertime, and who does not love being out on the open waters getting some sun rays or even casting a line to catch some fish? But, folks at the Jersey Shore should be aware that there are 2 new boating rules for the 2024 season

The reason for these new rules is increased safety once out on the water. The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau will be monitoring these new rules as the season progresses. If you feel like playing captain, be sure to follow them...

2 New Boating Rules Here In New Jersey And What Are They

  • Here is the first one, Regulation 13:82-1.13, with personal watercraft operation. It says that the owner or operator must not allow any passengers to ride between them and the steering controls, ensuring the operator has unobstructed control of the boat at all times.
  • The second new rule says, that Regulation 13:82-3.1 goes for water skiing and wake surfing. It requires all boats involved in these activities to maintain a minimum distance of 200 feet from structures like docks, marinas, and bridges, as well as from other vessels and individuals in the water unless otherwise specified by the chapter.

Make sure, you stay safe out on the water, and also give me a call so I can be out there and have some fun alongside you and friends! I'm a huge fan of dropping anchor and have a great time at F-Cove or swinging by Tices Shoal, and letting loose, there is always a party out at those spots.

Gotts is the unofficial mascot of the county. Whenever WRAT is hosting an event, people ask if Gotts will be there. there. Like Bigfoot, many people claim to see him in the area. According to Gotts, he was thrown out of home school in Monroe Township. To keep up with his own legend, Gotts likes writing about wacky local news that happens – such as pepperoni vandals. His favorite movie is Point Break, and is a big lover of Miller Lite. His favorite words to live by are “The windshield is always bigger than the rearview mirror”.
