Wildwood, N.J. Welcomes President Trump This Weekend
Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump is set to hit the Jersey Shore this Saturday, May 11th for a “Make America Great Again” rally on Wildwood Beach at 3601 Boardwalk Wildwood, NJ at 5pm. Gates are scheduled to open at 12 p.m.
In a joint statement, Mayor Ernie Troiano, Jr. and Commissioners Steve Mikulski and Krista McConnell shared enthusiasm for an event-filled weekend. “What a great boost to our town at the start of the summer season! We host hundreds of large capacity events annually, so the City is ready to welcome the crowds and looks forward to making the weekend successful for everyone.”
According to the Mayor, the space can hold more than 30,000 people. The Trump campaign is paying for the event and made an upfront reimbursement payment of $54,000 to cover law enforcement support from Wildwood and nearby departments.

What To Expect
Be aware that traffic will be crazy, so have a plan in place. Visitors to Wildwood should be aware that traffic lights are on the regular cycle and that parking meters are currently active.
Officials anticipate delays and detours on Saturday. There will be a drop-off/car share location between Schellenger and Cedar on Atlantic Avenue. No parking is allowed on the boardwalk street ends from Schellenger to Spicer Avenue.
What Items You Should Avoid Taking To The Rally
Wildwood officials have released a list of items prohibited by the United States Secret Service. These include weapons, alcohol, bags over a certain size, signs, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, e-cigarettes, and several other things. For a complete list of items that are prohibited, click HERE.
President Trump’s detractors here in the Garden State are scratching their heads wondering why the mayor would welcome President Trump to hold his rally on the beach in Wildwood.
“Take the politics out of it and people would bend over backward for this number of people to come to their town,” said Troiano, who is a Republican and a Trump supporter. “We become national spotlight. They see the size of the beaches, they see the amusement parks we have to offer, our restaurants and hotels take a good hit.”
