Boys’ Choir Eats Ghost Peppers While Singing Christmas Hymn
The choir director thought it was a good idea to try to eat ghost peppers while singing Christmas carols.
This boys’ choir takes a new twist on singing a religious holiday favorite: They eat ghost peppers while singing Christmas Carols. Quite frankly, I’m shocked that they can pull this off!
At first, this video seems like any other angelic boys choir that you might hear during the holidays. They even look at the role, with their white shirts and black ties. This boys’ choir sounds perfect in every way. However, this holiday video isn’t the usual holiday video. Because the director of the boys’ choir convinced them all to do something quite original in the middle of their performance. He convinced them to eat one of the hottest peppers known to humankind, the ghost pepper.
How hot is the ghost pepper? Hot peppers are rated for heat on the “Scoville scale”. A sweet bell pepper is a zero on the scale because it’s not hot. A common Jalapeño pepper that most humans find moderately hot is normally rated at about 8,000 Scoville units. The ghost pepper is so hot that it is rated at 1,000,000 Scoville units. Yep, one million! Most people can’t stand the heat of the ghost pepper.
Eating a ghost pepper is an experience of pain like no other. A human who decides to eat a ghost pepper is truly testing their ability to breathe. After eating a ghost pepper many people report feeling like their whole body is on fire. Even though the pepper is not doing any real damage to your body, it feels like it is. And that burning sensation lasts a long time. It b u r n s !!! It burns so much that some humans’ stomachs reject the pepper and they vomit it up. Their bodies say, “No way” and try to get rid of it.
Well, this boys’ choir eats a full, fresh ghost pepper after the first verse of the holiday classic, “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful.” The ghost peppers are munched at about 1:28 in the video. I showed WRAT’s resident hot pepper aficionado, Jimmy Steal, this video and we BOTH were impressed that this boys choir could finish the song. Why on earth anyone would eat ghost peppers while singing Christmas carols? Well, the jury is out on that.
These Monmouth & Ocean County Places Will Cater Your Christmas & New Year's Eve Holiday Gathering
Don’t feel like cooking? Inviting a ton of friends and relatives to your home for the holidays and having to cook for all of them can be really overwhelming. You should call your local caterer, restaurant, favorite deli, or specialty store, and let them do all the work.
It usually takes me a week or so to plan a holiday feast. My process starts with giving lots of thought to the side dishes and desserts that will make the meal spectacular. If I’m doing all or some of the cooking, my passion kicks in while coming up with a list of items that accompany the main dish. If a large crowd is expected, I will almost always make way too much. If you’re like me, you’re exhausted just thinking about doing all that work. How about letting someone else do all the heavy lifting? All you have to do is sit back and make a phone call.
Delicious catering options for a festive Christmas & New Year’s Eve.
The following places will do all the cooking and, in some cases, even deliver the food. Even if you have to pick up your order, it may be worth it. You can spend time getting the house ready for your guests. When your guests arrive, there will be more time for you to spend with them instead of slaving over a hot stove while your friends and family are in the den or the living room drinking all your booze.
I made sure to include a few vegan options. I don’t want to leave anyone out. Vegan options are listed last on the page.
Start making the guest list, and please take into account who has food allergies so you can be prepared when they arrive.
When Carl is not working at the greatest rock radio station known to mankind; a station known around the globe; a station that has the best music, co-workers, advertisers and most importantly THE BEST F'N LISTENERS you may find me doing any one of the following: Riding or making mountain bike trails. playing with his kids. playing sand volleyball on 5th Ave, cooking amazing food, including on his sweet smoker grill, going to concerts, swimming in the ocean, going to amusement parks with his kids, and other stuff that rocks!
