Good morning, Sports fans! We’re back with another exciting Sports Report for ya! The Knicks sue the Raptors! Yankees promote youth! Track star returns! And more! But first…
…as reported right here on WRAT.com by Michael Cohen…future Hall Of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski says he plans on staying retired…but…IF he were to come out of retirement…the one team he’d like to play for is the New York Giants!
Of course…Gronk and Tom Brady combined for one of the most lethal duos in NFL history as teammates on the New England Patriots and then Tampa Bay Buccaneers where they won Super Bowls with each franchise.

And the reason Gronk gave as to why he would like to be a Giant? Head Coach Brian Daboll. Gronk says he’s a big fan of Daboll’s. Man…can you imagine if this were to happen? The Giants already signed Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller…if Gronk joined him…with Saquon Barkley in the backfield…the Giants would be DANGEROUS! I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents! Now on to the Scoreboard!

Let’s start with baseball. Where the Mets crushed the Braves…10 to 4. Francisco Lindor hit his 23rd home run of the season…as the Mets improve to 59 and 67.

The Yankees were mercifully off yesterday…thank God…because I can’t stand watching them anymore. Tonight the Yanks take on the Washington Nationals in Yankee Stadium. The Yankees come into the game at 60 and 64 and in last place in the A.L. East.
The Yankees announced they will promote a pair of top prospects this week, outfielder Everson Pereira and infielder Oswald Peraza. Since being promoted to Triple-A, Pereira has slashed .312/.386/.551 with eight homers and 33 RBIs over 35 games. Peraza, 23, is hitting .268 with 14 homers and 36 RBIs in 63 games at Triple-A

Basketball. The New York Knicks sued the Toronto Raptors yesterday…alleging that members of the Raptors organization stole private Knicks info when he was employed by them and turned it over to Toronto. The Knicks allege that Ikechukwu Azotam, who worked for the Knicks from 2020 to 2023, sent the Raptors all kinds of secret documents and now they’re going to court.

Track & Field. Sha’Carri Richardson won a gold medal at the world championships in the biggest 100-meter race this side of the Olympics. Two summers ago after Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, Richardson’s road to the Tokyo Games was roadblocked by a positive test for marijuana. Good to see her win! Congrats, Sha’Carri!
