We recently put out the welcome mat for the Pennsylvania band Crobot and welcomed them to the WRAT Studios during Rockyn Robyn Lane’s show for an in-studio interview and live performance.
The band stopped by as their tour with Steel Panther brought them to the area to play Starland Ballroom.
It was really fun to have the entire band stop in, enjoy some whisky with us and play the song that we’ve all fallen for, the latest single called, “Golden”.
The band explained to Robyn that as they were writing the song they realized that it really sounded like a Soundgarden song. That’s not surprising as they count the Seattle rockers amongst their many early influences. Instead of shying away from the song, they decided to fully accept the idea and make the track a homage to the incredible lead singer, Chris Cornell.
The cameras do a pretty good job of capturing the vibe of the acoustic performance. We’re super honored to continue this cool relationship with Crobot. Safe travels, fellas… and we’ll catch up for more whisky memories when the universe conspires to bring us together again.

Asbury Park Featured In New Statewide Music And Arts Festival
Remember on Friday when we heard rumors about a new music festival was going to be announced soon? Well… That New Jersey based music, arts and technology festival was announced yesterday. It’s going to have a cool local impact because some of the events will be in Asbury Park in June.
The festival is being called “North To Shore”, as in “from the Northern part of the state to the Jersey Shore”, I guess. So far, 27 different venues are involved in all the events spread between Newark, Asbury Park and Atlantic City. Governor Murphy said at the press conference yesterday he hopes it’s like the South By Southwest festival in Austin, but reflecting New Jersey Artists.
The North To Shore festival begins in Atlantic City June 4th to 11th. The Asbury shows are June 14 to 18 and the Newark dates span June 24 to 25.
So who’s playing locally? Glad you asked. This is what we know of as of press time. It’s possible that additions will be made.
Carl Craft is studying here on earth for a short time with varying amounts of success. He's heard every morning on The Morning Rat Race.
Sometimes he goes, "sock / shoe, sock / shoe" which we think is a sign of some kind of psychosis...
