The Last Blockbuster Saw a 200% Jump in Sales After Its Super Bowl Ad
The last remaining Blockbuster store in Oregon released it’s Super Bowl ad during halftime. And it apparently worked!
Sales went through the roof for the nearly deceased brand…
But here’s the fun fact: If you watched the big game you didn’t even see this advertisement. That’s because it didn’t air during the game. It didn’t air during the post-game coverage. It didn’t air during the puppy bowl.
It didn’t air. They only released it on their social media channels… They posted it on social media during the Halftime Show.
And it WORKED. The last Blockbuster claims that their sales went up 200% after the ad went up.
While you CAN actually rent movies at this Blockbuster, most of its revenue comes from merchandise, like hats, shirts, and sweatpants.
The ad is really good. It promises that even after the world ends, this Blockbuster will STILL be here. And it was made to look like it’s on a crappy VHS tape. (So, after the apocalypse, it’ll be them and Keith Richards, do I have that right?)
