Watch The Making Of CLEAVER (The Fictitious Sopranos Horror Movie Produced By Chistopher)
Davey Mac of the Morning Rat Race here and we just interviewed the great Michael Imperioli. Michael of course famously played Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos and created quite the iconic character.
Michael, of course, has had quite the stellar career. He has played Spider in Goodfellas, co-wrote and produced Summer Of Sam, hosted successful podcasts, and more.
Michael also wrote some episodes of The Sopranos itself. But it was as his character, Christopher, where he produced the fictional horror movie Cleaver.
In what was a nutty yet brilliant subplot, Christopher and Carmine Jr. go into the movie business. Christopher’s idea is to make a gangster movie with a supernatural/horror element.
So, Christopher makes the story about a mob boss who is killed…but comes back to life…and gets revenge on his enemies as a sort of cleaver-wielding, mafia zombie.
When Michael was talking to us on The Morning Rat Race, he informed us that HBO actually made a pretend documentary on the Making Of Cleaver.
And so after immediately rushing to YouTube, I found the Cleaver featurette. Check it out…it’s hysterical. The Sopranos actors stay in character as they treat this like a real HBO doc.
And watch some fun Cleaver clips after the video. Michael will be at the Basie Center Of The Arts talking about The Sopranos! Go see him! What a great guy!
