Actor Who Played Dumbledore In ‘Harry Potter’ Movies Dies
Sad news to report for fans of the Harry Potter film series…Michael Gambon…the veteran Irish-English actor who played Dumbledore…has died at the age of 82. Gambon was trained thespian and had quite the career…but he is probably best knowing for playing Dumbledore in most of the movies.

Of course, legendary Irish actor Richard Harris portrayed Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films before he died at the age of 72. Harris also had a fantastic career as well.

Now, not to get too dark here, but that means that two outta three Dumbledore’s have died. Don’t forget…Jude Law plays Dumbledore in the new Harry Potter prequel series Fantastic Beasts. So, I hope Jude is looking both ways before he crosses the street!

But all jokes aside…Gambon was a terrific actor. Besides the Harry Potter movies, Gambon had standout roles as Lyndon Johnson in the excellent film Path To War, he was sinister and great in the Al Pacino-Russell Crowe picture The Insider, the rich and loud-mouthed jerk in the Academy Award-nominated Gosford Park…as well as making memorable appearances in The Life Aquatic, Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, the Oscar-winning movie The King’s Speech, and more. He was a great actor and talent and will be missed.
