Drive-In Movie Theater Is Now Open In New Jersey
Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines, load up the popcorn, and make sure the car has plenty of gas because we can now sit in our cars, and hit up the only open drive-in movie theater in New Jersey.
A Brief History of the Drive-In
A look back at one of the first drive-in theaters was opened on June 6, 1933, by Richard Hollingshead Jr. in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The admission cost was 25 cents per car and 25 cents per person. I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to check out of the movie for 25 cents at this place even though it does sound really nice to have that back.
Where Is This Drive-In Movie Theater?
Let’s take you over to Vineland, New Jersey and it’s called The Delsea Drive-In. It was built back in 1949 and closed in 1987.
The really cool news it’s only an hour away from Atlantic City, Philadelphia, and Delaware. The Delsea Drive-In will take you back in time to get the feel of the old-school way of watching movies but will have all modern technologies
I’m sorry NO beer, wine, beer, liquor, etc. are allowed at the drive-in. They reserve the right to contact the local police if it appears that anyone is under the influence. So don’t get too crazy!
To assure everyone’s safety, ALL cars will be inspected at the Box Office before entry to the field. Any unwanted or illegal items of any kind will result in the police being called. Yes, this includes pocket knives.
How Do You Get Tickets, How Much, And What Is Playing
All this information on what will be on the big screen and getting tickets can be found, at delseadrive-in.com. Whoever buys the ticket is entitled to ONE space for ONE vehicle on the field.
In other words: Every person that you’ve purchased a ticket for must be in the same car. If you’re allowed in by management, the price for the additional vehicle space will be $30.00
The Delsea Drive-In’s policy says, if you leave the drive-in field, you will not be able to re-enter after you leave. If online tickets are still available, you can re-enter after purchasing a new ticket. So make sure you have everything you need before entering.
