The gate opens at 11:30 am and the event runs until 7pm. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The Lakehouse Block Party will benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation. Speaking of the second annual block party APMF Executive Director Tom Donovan said:
“Last year was fantastic! We’re going to build on the momentum with live music from 12pm to 7pm!”
Funds raised by the event will support the many musical services provided by the Asbury Park Music Foundation. Tom Donovan told us about a few of their initiatives:
“This is all raising funds for our music education program. We’re all about the kids and the community. We put the power of music to work to make a difference in kids’ lives. We teach at all the charter schools in Asbury Park. We work with the public school system. We also have a great scholarship program and we put on a lot of free concerts for the community throughout the summer.”
