This Weekend Marks The 50th Anniversary Of Vineland New Jersey’s Stewart’s Drive-In
Come on out to Stewart’s Drive-In located at 584 S. Delsea Drive in Vineland on Saturday, March 9th as they celebrate the launch of their 50th season.
When I think of Stewart’s, a frosty mug of root beer comes to mind, followed by their juicy grilled hot dogs, yummy cheese fries, and their wonderful cheeseburgers.
This 1950’s style drive in restaurant serving classic American food, will take you back in time as you recall watching classic shows like “Happy Days”, or films like “American Graffiti”. Perhaps you are even old enough to have lived in such a magical time. Lucky you!
Who Owns Stewart’s In Vineland?
This Stewart’s Drive-In restaurant was opened back in 1974 by the Rossanese family. To mark the 50th season, Maryann Rossanese has handed the keys over to the next generation as Stewart’s of Vineland will now be run by her son Louis.
It must be great to work for the Rossanese family, because I heard that every employee who worked at Stewart’s during the 2023 season will be back to serve the community in 2024.
New For the 2024 Season
Louis is in the process of adding a large family play area called “The Backyard”, which will be opening a little later in the season.
Louis has other plans too, like adding a few upgrades to the food menu.
For the 2024 season, Louis is giving their cheesesteaks a slight makeover by serving them on brick-oven baked rolls that are exclusive to Stewart’s Vineland location.
According to 42Freeway,com, “Stewart’s hamburgers are made with a brisket beef blend. The cheesesteaks are made with freshly sliced ribeye steak and Cooper sharp cheese.”
You haven’t lived until you’ve had a cheesesteak with Cooper sharp. Thanks to my friend Tom for introducing me to the incredible combination of rib eye and melted Cooper sharp..
Can You Believe It’s Been 50 Years?
According to writer, Mark Matthews, “Louis speaks very highly of what his mother Maryann has achieved with this Stewart’s restaurant, and what it has meant to him and the entire family.”
But “family” also means the loyal customers who keep coming back and saying wonderful things about the restaurant and the family, as well as the staff who all seem to consider their time at Stewart’s Vineland as one of the best work experiences they’ve had.
These are the things that make this Stewart’s Drive-In restaurant stand out. Each individually owned restaurant adds their own special touches on the menu. If you haven’t noticed, not all Stewart’s menus are the same.
I’ve been to a few Stewart’s locations in my time, but never to a drive-in version.
My friend Marilyn Johnson and her friend Mark Matthews, the writer of the 42 Freeway article have had the opportunity to enjoy the Stewart’s Drive-In experience.
