Do you see it? I see it! Now...not to get confusing...but Pauly will also star in a short film about Richard as well called The Court Jester. This will not be related to the final, feature-length movie. We have the trailer for that short film for you below.
Anyway, what do you think of the casting and idea? Personally speaking, I always loved when Richard Simmons would pop up on The Late Show with David Letterman...he was always totally nuts and hysterical. Sure, he was known for Sweatin' To The Oldies and other exercise tapes...but his late-night appearances were always legendary.
When asked for comment about the movie, Simmons said that he has no connection to the film and that, these days, he just tries "to live a quiet life and be peaceful." Regardless, I think this thing could work. I mean, biopics are the way to go for an Oscar nomination. Think Jamie Foxx, Joaquin Phoenix, Rami Malek, Will Smith, and more...all of whom have been nominated or won Academy Awards for playing famous people.
So what I'm saying is...I'm interested! I think I check this flick out when it hits theaters. Anyway, check out the trailer for The Court Jester to see a sample of Pauly Shore as Richard Simmons. Until then...I'll see you at the movies!
