Smokies Craft BBQ Coming To Downtown Toms River
Last month I wrote about the opening of Sweet Carolina BBQ in Silverton. Now this week comes word the Downtown area of Toms River is about to get smoked! Smokies Craft BBQ is coming.
The new location will be at 49 Main Street downtown, in the former location of The Village Florist. This will be the second location for Smokies. Their original shop is located at 333 Atlantic City Blvd (Route 9) Store B8 in Bayville.
About Smokies Craft BBQ.
According to their website, BBQ and homemade are two words they live by at Smokies Craft BBQ. Furthermore, they serve up the freshest BBQ sandwiches, ribs, platters, pulled chicken and pulled pork right in Bayville, NJ. Smokies smokers say they have been practicing the art of local BBQ for over 10 years and have perfected their secret recipe. Meanwhile, it’s said they are famous for their pork belly burnt ends with mouth-watering seasoned meat and BBQ ranch dipping sauce!
It’s an eclectic menu.
I always like to take a deep dive into a restaurant’s menu before I visit. Not to decide if I want to go. I mean if I’ve come far enough to ogle the menu online, I’m all in. No, I do it to get myself psyched up for the meal! I have to say I am excited that Smokies is coming to Toms River. The menu, seen here, is filled with items any fan of true BBQ would love. However, it should be noted that Smokies doesn’t just do BBQ.
Interestingly, some people, (like my wife, god help me) are not huge fans of traditional BBQ. Well, don’t fear, you can bring ’em to Smokies. They rock over a dozen burgers and chicken sandwiches, including a breakfast burger, and the ever-popular Nashville Hot style of chicken sando. Moreover, there are specialty items, ranging from grilled cheese, to chicken fingers, and quesadillas to choose from. Furthermore, they have a kid-friendly section of the menu, so you don’t have to make a stop at the fat food joint on the way home!
The smoke and the sauce.
Finally, we come to the star of the menu. Chiefly, Smokies Craft BBQ items. From pulled pork and chicken, to smoke wings, and classics like baby back ribs and brisket. Yup, they have it all, and it’s all coming soon to Downtown Toms River. Not to mention BBQ sandwiches so you can get your work shirt soiled at lunch with some sauce. Speaking of the sauce, they have quite a few. These include a sweet sauce, a vinegar sauce, and one of my all-time favorite style of BBQ sauces, their take on an Alabama White BBQ Sauce!
No word on the opening date for the Toms River location of Smokies Craft BBQ. However, the Bayville shop is open Tuesday and Wednesday 4 pm til 8pm, and Thursday through Saturday from Noon til 8 pm. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
