Each year The Partnership For A Drug-Free New Jersey hosts a competition that challenges NJ high school students to produce original music with an anti-drug message. The “Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs NJ” competition is a great talent showcase that awards music contracts to 3 winners from across the Garden State.
This year’s virtual concert was streamed from 95.9 The RAT’s studios in Lake Como NJ. It was hosted by Angela Conover, Director of Opioid Response and Prevention with Partnership For A Drug Free NJ. It features over an hour of talented high school students performing original songs with an anti-substance abuse message. Check out the full concert below!
Tune to Jersey Rock on 95.9 The Rat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 pm to hear call-ins from the winners of the “Your Song! Your Voice! Shout Down Drugs NJ! Competition.”
On Tuesday night we’ll chat with Third Place Winner Matthew DiTizio of Atlantic County. His song “Revealed” earned him a $2,000 music contract!
Second Place Winner Tina LaRosa of Morris County checks in over the phone on Wednesday night. Her song “Wasted” scored her a $3,000 music contract!
We’ll close out the week on Thursday with a call-in from First Place Winner Jswizzy of Mercer County. His song “Intervention Intentions” netted a $5,000 music contract!
